It happens for some girls whose castings don’t go the way they expect or just hope to feel low, dejected, fall in tears. Most of the times they’re very young, so, you know, it happens to be kind of more “emotional” at that age, but as a model, it can always happen a moment when you just want to close in your own room and to fall in tears. It’s hard to explain, but it happens quite often – and I understand it pretty well. People seem to ignore that being a model is basically about castings, about compete with tens and hundreds of other girls, it’s about happiness, shows for best fashion brands in the world, about a lot of “No, thanks”, self-esteem, frustration.
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot, and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.”
I’m not one of those who indiscriminately says “You’re an amazing model, things will be great and are going for the best for sure!”, it’s stupid, it’s… you know, this is the kind of things you automatically say:
-to your daughter, and so they’re somehow great and very tender, gentle and caring;
-to a girl you simply want to have sex with, so it’s generally part of the “I just tell you what you want you hear”.
No, I think I’m generally honest with girls, if we talk about models especially; but this is not about potentialities, about how many castings are going well, about how many covers you’ll be on, if I like or love you as a model, this is about… you know, Jordan too missed more than 9000 shots in his career, so… hang in there girls! 😉
And remember, castings are not about you, they’re just about something YOU DO, the MODEL; so don’t take it personally, it should have nothing to do with your self-esteem, what you think and the image you have of yourself, ‘cause castings have nothing to do with the wonderful GIRL YOU ARE. :*
